Jane Austen spent 18 months at school in Reading in 1780s. Come and find out why she came to this bustling country town for her education and what she what she might have experienced in her formative months here.

About the speaker:

Joy Pibworth has been a Janeite since first reading Pride and Prejudice at school. She is a member of the Jane Austen Society and is fascinated by the historical background to the novels.
