Jane Austen had links to the Thames Valley, particularly to the Reading, Henley and Wargrave area through her mother’s family. Come to this talk to discover these links, places that Jane knew and the importance of the Thames Valley Austens to what we know about Jane.
About the speaker:
Joy Pibworth has been a Janeite since first reading Pride and Prejudice at school. She is a member of the Jane Austen Society and is fascinated by the historical background to the novels.
