School Visits
Reading Museum Hands-on Learning offers a wide range of sessions for Foundation Stage/KS1 up to KS3. All sessions are linked to the National Curriculum.
Our sessions last about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The morning sessions start at 10.00 am and the afternoon session starts at 12.30pm. We finish our sessions by 2.15 pm so that you have time to get back to school.
We suggest that you bring at least 5 adults per class.
Maximum group size is 35 (pupils).
Adults must stay with the group during the session.

How much does it cost?
Our educational sessions are £155 each (maximum 35 children). This is the equivalent to just over £5 per child for a class of 30 children.
Our loan box membership is:
•£300 for 5 boxes each half term
•£225 for 3 boxes each half term
If you wish to borrow a box ad hoc it is £45 per box per half term, payment by card (over the phone) in advance of the loan.

A 20 minute introduction to the Museum and an insight into our fascinating collections, delivered by our enthusiastic team. A great way to begin your visit before heading off around the galleries.
Cost £40 for a maximum of 35 pupils.
Autism and Sensory Equipment
We are pleased to have been supported by Autism in Museums, who have donated a Tactile Sensory Bag and softplay pillows. Please let the Learning Team know if you would like to borrow any of this equipment on your school visit.
