Windrush Day 2021: poetry competition

In partnership with Barbados Museum, we are delighted to invite you to take part in our Windrush Day 2021 poetry competition!

The competition

We are looking for poets to write and submit a poem reflecting on the theme of Windrush Experience.

We welcome writers of all ages and experience, and the competition has three age categories: primary (ages 11 and under), secondary (ages 12 to 18), and adult (ages 18+).

Submitting your poem

Please send your poem, and a short recording of it being performed, to the Barbados Museum team.

In your email, please include:

• your/your child's name
• your/your child's age
• your/your child's address
• your/your child's school/institutional affiliation

Deadline

Please send us your poem by midnight on June 20th 2021.

Prizes

• Primary: A set of story books from the Barbados Museum gift shop
• Secondary and adult: A $100 gift voucher for the Barbados Museum gift shop (non-consignment items only)
