My name is Thabo, and I am an actor, human rights activist, and campaigner from Zimbabwe. The Certificate of Registration reminds me of the terrible times that many people in Zimbabwe face on a day-to-day basis at the hands of a brutal, competitive, and authoritarian State. Their freedom of expression is so curtailed that a passport has become a meal ticket for millions of Zimbabweans who will do anything to remove the ZANU PF Government or leave the country for better life prospects. It also represents the many stolen rigged elections in Zimbabwe, where violence has been used since 1980 before, during, and after elections to keep the ZANU PF Government in power. Registering to vote is now seen as pointless.
