Market Place The Market Place was created by the monks of Reading Abbey in the 12th century. They deliberately placed it close to the abbey’s main entrance gateway next to St Laurence’s church.
Town Hall Square St Laurence’s Church stands beside the Town Hall. During the middle ages it was used by townspeople from the surrounding parish and residents of an alms house just inside the
