Bayeux Tapestry Virtual Session

In this session we use our full size replica of the Bayeux Tapestry as a wonderful resource for teaching and learning about the Saxon/Norman period and to illustrate the events of 1066 and the death of Edward the Confessor.  With activities, objects, videos and HD images from the tapestry we will inspire children to reflect on history, symbology, story-telling and art bringing the past to life.

Resources for this session include:

  • Downloadable resources to prepare for the session
  • Activities for children to get involved in the session
  • Videos to explore the tapestry and museum objects
  • Downloadable resources and ideas for follow-up activities in the classroom

Thank you so much for the brilliant session you ran ... on the Bayeux Tapestry, the children really enjoyed it and it really brought our unit of inquiry to life.
