Leather Embroidery workshop with Katherine Pogson
This creative workshop will explore techniques for embroidering onto leather and other fabrics, drawing inspiration from the surroundings of Reading Abbey.
Delving into the rich history of medieval stitch exemplified by the ‘Opus Anglicanum’ exhibition at the V and A recently, and using the Abbey itself as a springboard for further visual research, we will develop individual motifs, patterns and colourways to create samples and small decorative panels in response.
Materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own sewing kit if you would like.
