What:
Join two acclaimed poets and teachers, Adrian Blamires (lecturer in English literature at Reading University) and Lesley Saunders for a workshop exploring the ways in which the past underlies and shapes our present lives. Be inspired by Reading Abbey Revealed, the town’s major conservation project, and go on a walkabout to find out about the historical significance of the Abbey Quarter. Then sit down and read other people’s poetry and stories before taking part in some semi-structured exercises to develop your thoughts and ideas; there will still be time to draft something of your own!
Bring something to write on and with.
Please note that the Gateway has no step free access and there are uneven steps and floors.
