Reading Museum is looking for locally based ICT companies of every shape and size to feature in our major retrospective exhibition, Reading’s Digital Revolution, set to open in the Sir John Madejski Gallery from March 2025.
We are being supported with a generous grant from the The National Lottery Heritage Fund: and have formed an exciting new partnership with the National Museum of Computing. Together, and for the first time, we will trace the ICT industry’s beginnings in Reading and share the fascinating story of a still unfolding digital revolution.
Besides recalling the ICT industry’s historical development in the town, the exhibition seeks to celebrate current achievements and explore what the future may have in store. As an ICT company based in Reading today, you are part of a sector driving an economy worth an astonishing £14.5 billion, positioning our town at the centre of the UK’s largest tech cluster outside London.
With your help, we can place a spotlight on the technological innovation currently emerging from Reading and the surrounding area. We are also seeking our local industry’s help in providing a complimentary education and events programme to run alongside the exhibition. Through this we can open doors to the opportunities that exist for the town’s young people and future workforce.
We will be delighted to speak to your company representative about what’s involved, and we will value your support however large or small.
Please get in touch if your company would be happy to:
- Feature its work and story of innovation in this landmark exhibition with an estimated audience of over 120,000 visitors
- Attend an exclusive preview exhibition opening event with room for your company’s special guests
- Provide technical know-how and subject specialism to contribute to the exhibition’s programme of events and educational activities
- Provide advice and content for the Museum’s project webpage, with a current worldwide audience reach in the millions
- Take up a place in an inaugural Reading ICT Careers Fair at Reading Town Hall in November 2025 - Aimed at young people and sixth formers, organised by Berkshire Education Business Partnership and Reading’s Economy & Destination Agency (REDA)
- Take part in networking opportunities and a broad range of educational opportunities, delivered in partnership with Digit<All> Charity, RG Spaces, The South Central Institute of Technology, Reading University’s Institute of Education and Reading Borough Council.
