Chinese New Year event cancellation
Reading’s Chinese Community has made the difficult decision to cancel the Chinese New Year event planned for Sunday 2nd February at Reading Town Hall Square and Concert Hall.
The Concert Hall event had sold out and ticket holders who bought their tickets via the Reading Council Box Office are advised to contact the ticket office on 0118 960 60 60 for information on refunds.
Cllr Karen Rowland, Reading’s Lead Councillor for Culture, Heritage and Recreation, said: “We are very sorry that Reading’s Chinese Community has had to make the difficult decision to cancel this event, especially with the hard work that has been put in to prepare it. It is understandable their priorities are elsewhere at the present time and their focus needs to be on supporting friends and family in China. We will look to ensure we find other opportunities in the future to celebrate the community’s rich culture and heritage. Our thoughts go out to everyone who is affected at this difficult time.”
