What:
Part of our Heritage Open Days programme - organised by the HSHAZ project team, find out more here.
What do you see when you walk down the Oxford Road? The regular array of shop fronts? The rushed and busy locals?
What about the old friends and their nostalgia for its past? Or the lonely newcomers who are slowly coming to think of it as home? The teenagers who spend their Sundays wasting time before dinner? The jobbing workers who loop their way along it each week?
To accompany Baker Street Production’s audio project Look, Hear, Oxford Road, this guided walking tour will take you round a small section of the Oxford Road and show you how the locals see it.
England’s favourite heritage festival stretches across two weekends in September. The theme this year is Edible England! It's your chance to see hidden places and celebrate our fantastic history and culture. The local programme is co-ordinated by Reading UK CIC. www.heritageopendays.org.uk
