Venue: Reading Museum
What:
At teatime on Wednesday, 10 February 1943, a single German bomber dropped four bombs across the centre of Reading, killing 41 people. To mark the 75th anniversary of this attack, local historian Mike Cooper will look at the events of the raid – which severely damaged the Town Hall amongst other buildings in the Abbey Quarter – and describe how Reading was prepared to meet the threat of bombing in the Second World War.
Part of the Reading Abbey Lecture Series.
Don’t forget that refreshments are available in our Palmers cafe.
